Description

Chicken Rissoles are crispy, golden patties made from ground chicken, breadcrumbs, and spices, lightly fried to perfection. They’re perfect as a main dish, snack, or served with a side salad or dipping sauce.

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, for frying
  • Optional: dipping sauce (e.g., ketchup, aioli, or yogurt sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the beaten egg and mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small patties (about 2 inches in diameter) using your hands.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the rissoles and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  4. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers.
  • You can also bake these rissoles in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, for a healthier option.
