Description

Golden, crispy vegetable balls filled with melty cheese, served on skewers for a fun and delicious snack everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green capsicum
  • 3/4 cup grated mozzarella or processed cheese
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs or Italian seasoning
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame or preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, grated carrot, cabbage, capsicum, cheese, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, salt, pepper, herbs, cornflour, and breadcrumbs. Mix well.
  3. Ensure oil is hot but not smoking. If air frying, grease the basket lightly.
  4. Roll small portions of the mixture into balls and insert a skewer or toothpick into each. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Fry the lollipops in batches until golden and crisp. For air frying, cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Drain on paper towels. Optionally sprinkle with chaat masala.
  7. Serve hot with ketchup, mint chutney, or sweet chili sauce.

Notes

  • Use starchy potatoes for best texture and binding.
  • Test-fry one to adjust seasoning or binding if needed.
  • Freeze shaped lollipops for later use and fry directly from frozen.
  • Customize veggies or spices based on taste preference.
