Description

Golden, flaky puff pastry rolls filled with melty cheddar and savory polony, finished with a glossy egg wash and a sprinkle of sesame for an irresistibly simple snack.


Ingredients

  • 400 g puff pastry sheets, chilled
  • 200 g polony, thinly sliced
  • 150 g cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Lay the chilled puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and have the polony slices and grated cheddar ready.
  3. Position your lined tray nearby so you can transfer assembled rolls easily.
  4. Arrange polony slices over the pastry in an even layer, sprinkle with cheddar, roll up tightly, then slice into 2–3 cm pieces.
  5. Place the pieces cut side up on the tray, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle sesame seeds if using, and bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden.
  6. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes to let the cheese settle.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dip or a crisp salad.

Notes

  • Chill assembled rolls for 5 minutes before slicing for cleaner edges.
  • Finely grate the cheese for even melting and fewer leaks.
