Description
Golden, flaky puff pastry rolls filled with melty cheddar and savory polony, finished with a glossy egg wash and a sprinkle of sesame for an irresistibly simple snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 400 g puff pastry sheets, chilled
- 200 g polony, thinly sliced
- 150 g cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Lay the chilled puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and have the polony slices and grated cheddar ready.
- Position your lined tray nearby so you can transfer assembled rolls easily.
- Arrange polony slices over the pastry in an even layer, sprinkle with cheddar, roll up tightly, then slice into 2–3 cm pieces.
- Place the pieces cut side up on the tray, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle sesame seeds if using, and bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes to let the cheese settle.
- Serve warm with your favorite dip or a crisp salad.
Notes
- Chill assembled rolls for 5 minutes before slicing for cleaner edges.
- Finely grate the cheese for even melting and fewer leaks.
- Add a pinch of dried oregano or paprika for extra flavor.
- Note: Avoid overfilling to prevent cheese from spilling out.
