Description
A sweet and savory appetizer featuring golden caramelized pears, creamy melted brie, and crispy toasted baguette slices, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with fresh rosemary.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
- 6 ounces brie cheese, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the pear slices and brown sugar. Cook for 5–7 minutes until soft and caramelized.
- Place baguette slices on the baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5–6 minutes until lightly crisp.
- Top each toasted baguette with a slice of brie and caramelized pear.
- Return the crostini to the oven for 3–4 minutes, just until the brie softens.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with honey. Sprinkle with chopped rosemary and a pinch of black pepper.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Use slightly firm pears so they hold their shape while caramelizing.
- Don’t over-toast the baguette to maintain a tender interior.
- Add toasted walnuts or cranberries for variation.
- These crostini are best served warm but can be eaten at room temperature too.
