Description

A sweet and savory appetizer featuring golden caramelized pears, creamy melted brie, and crispy toasted baguette slices, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with fresh rosemary.


Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
  • 6 ounces brie cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the pear slices and brown sugar. Cook for 5–7 minutes until soft and caramelized.
  3. Place baguette slices on the baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5–6 minutes until lightly crisp.
  4. Top each toasted baguette with a slice of brie and caramelized pear.
  5. Return the crostini to the oven for 3–4 minutes, just until the brie softens.
  6. Remove from oven and drizzle with honey. Sprinkle with chopped rosemary and a pinch of black pepper.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use slightly firm pears so they hold their shape while caramelizing.
  • Don’t over-toast the baguette to maintain a tender interior.
  • Add toasted walnuts or cranberries for variation.
  • These crostini are best served warm but can be eaten at room temperature too.
