- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup toffee bits (like Heath)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, melted butter, and egg until a thick dough forms.
- Press two-thirds of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the dough layer and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and toffee bits over the condensed milk layer.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Use a spice cake mix or chocolate cake mix for flavor variations.
- Chill the bars before slicing for cleaner cuts.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
