Description
Simple, cozy, and irresistibly buttery, these noodles are the ultimate comfort food that comes together in minutes using just a few pantry staples.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces egg noodles
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt (plus extra for pasta water)
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- Salt the boiling water generously, then add the egg noodles.
- Cook the noodles until al dente, about 7–8 minutes.
- While the noodles cook, place the butter in a large mixing bowl.
- Drain the noodles, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
- Immediately toss the hot noodles with the butter until fully coated. Add a splash of pasta water if needed to help the butter melt and coat the noodles evenly.
- Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Serve warm, optionally garnished with chopped parsley or grated cheese.
Notes
- Use real butter for the best flavor and texture.
- Save pasta water to help create a silky coating on the noodles.
- Customize with herbs, cheese, or veggies if desired.
