Description

These Buffalo Chicken Onion Rings combine crispy, golden onion rings with a creamy, spicy buffalo chicken filling. Perfect for game days or party snacks, they’re crunchy, cheesy, and packed with bold flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 large onions, sliced into thick rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your fryer or a large pot of oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese.
  3. Arrange onion slices into ring pairs and fill the gap between them with the chicken mixture. Press gently to compact.
  4. Dredge each filled ring in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb step for extra crunch.
  5. Fry the rings in hot oil for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with a pinch of salt or chopped parsley if desired.
  7. Serve hot with ranch, blue cheese dressing, or extra buffalo sauce.

Notes

  • Freeze assembled rings for 20 minutes before breading to help them hold shape.
  • Add garlic powder or smoked paprika to flour for extra flavor.
  • Bake instead of frying at 425°F for a lighter version.
