Description

A crisp and creamy broccoli salad packed with fresh broccoli, cheddar cheese, sweet raisins, and crunchy sunflower seeds tossed in a lightly sweet dressing. Perfect for picnics, potlucks, or a refreshing side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: No heating is required. Prepare a clean cutting board, knife, and mixing bowls.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl combine the chopped broccoli, sliced red onion, shredded cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, and raisins.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: In a separate small bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and gently toss until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  5. Cook to Perfection: No cooking is needed. Cover the bowl and place the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so the flavors blend.
  6. Finishing Touches: Remove from the refrigerator and stir the salad again to redistribute the dressing.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy the crisp textures and creamy dressing.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add sunflower seeds just before serving.
  • Chop broccoli into small bite sized pieces for the best texture.
  • Allow the salad to chill before serving so the flavors fully develop.
  • Dried cranberries can replace raisins for a slightly tart flavor.
