Description
Flaky crescent roll dough wrapped around soft scrambled eggs, savory breakfast sausage, and melted cheddar cheese. These warm breakfast roll-ups bake until golden and make an easy, satisfying morning meal that is perfect for busy weekdays or relaxed brunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 fully cooked breakfast sausage links
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut in half, or 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium low heat and scramble the eggs gently until just softly set, then remove from the heat.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
- Place half a slice of cheddar cheese or a small sprinkle of shredded cheese on each triangle.
- Add a spoonful of scrambled eggs and place one sausage link on top.
- Roll each triangle starting from the wide end toward the tip, wrapping the filling inside.
- Arrange the roll-ups seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Cook the scrambled eggs only until softly set so they stay tender after baking.
- Avoid overfilling the dough to keep the roll-ups from opening while baking.
- Turkey sausage or different cheeses like Monterey Jack can be used as easy substitutions.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
