Description

Flaky crescent roll dough wrapped around soft scrambled eggs, savory breakfast sausage, and melted cheddar cheese. These warm breakfast roll-ups bake until golden and make an easy, satisfying morning meal that is perfect for busy weekdays or relaxed brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 fully cooked breakfast sausage links
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut in half, or 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium low heat and scramble the eggs gently until just softly set, then remove from the heat.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
  5. Place half a slice of cheddar cheese or a small sprinkle of shredded cheese on each triangle.
  6. Add a spoonful of scrambled eggs and place one sausage link on top.
  7. Roll each triangle starting from the wide end toward the tip, wrapping the filling inside.
  8. Arrange the roll-ups seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Cook the scrambled eggs only until softly set so they stay tender after baking.
  • Avoid overfilling the dough to keep the roll-ups from opening while baking.
  • Turkey sausage or different cheeses like Monterey Jack can be used as easy substitutions.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
