- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine garlic, yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and all the spices to create the marinade.
- Add the sliced chicken and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 4–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly if needed.
- Serve wrapped in pita bread with fresh vegetables, tahini sauce, or garlic sauce.
