Description

Boneless Skinless Chicken Shawarma features tender, juicy chicken marinated in aromatic Middle Eastern spices, grilled or pan-cooked to perfection and served with fresh veggies and warm pita for a flavorful and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine garlic, yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and all the spices to create the marinade.
  2. Add the sliced chicken and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 4–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  4. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly if needed.
  5. Serve wrapped in pita bread with fresh vegetables, tahini sauce, or garlic sauce.
