Description

Blue Cheese Burgers are juicy, flavorful burgers made with a blend of ground beef and pork, stuffed with crumbled blue cheese, topped with mozzarella, and served on slider buns with sautéed mushrooms and onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 oz (200g) ground pork
  • 14 oz (400g) ground beef (no more than 15% fat)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 oz (115g) blue cheese, crumbled
  • 2 oz (60g) mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 4 burger slider buns
  • Mushrooms and onions: 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine.
  2. Divide meat mixture into 4 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a patty.
  3. Place crumbled blue cheese in the center of 2 patties, then top with remaining patties and seal edges to encase the cheese.
  4. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-7 minutes per side, until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  5. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella on each patty to melt.
  6. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a separate skillet over medium heat. Sauté mushrooms and onions until tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Toast slider buns if desired. Assemble burgers by placing patties on buns and topping with sautéed mushrooms and onions.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Ensure the blue cheese is fully encased to prevent leaking during cooking.
  • Use fresh, high-quality cheeses for the best flavor.
  • Slider buns can be replaced with regular burger buns if preferred.
  • Optionally, add lettuce, tomato, or pickles for extra layers of flavor.
