Description
A smoky, cheesy, and delicious BBQ chicken pizza loaded with tender chicken, red onions, and fresh cilantro on a crisp golden crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- In a bowl, toss the cooked chicken with 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce and season with salt and pepper if needed. Set aside.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a lightly floured surface. Transfer to parchment paper or an oiled baking sheet.
- Spread the remaining BBQ sauce over the dough, then top with half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Evenly distribute the BBQ chicken and red onion slices, then top with the remaining cheese.
- Brush the edges of the crust with olive oil.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top, slice, and serve.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for quicker prep.
- Try smoked gouda or provolone for extra depth of flavor.
- For a crispier crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone.
