Description

Crispy baked taquitos filled with seasoned beef and melted cheddar cheese, rolled in tortillas and baked until golden. A simple and satisfying dish that is perfect for snacks, weeknight dinners, or sharing with friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 grams (1 pound) ground beef
  • 10 small flour tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper and stir well.
  3. Remove the skillet from heat and mix the shredded cheddar cheese into the beef mixture.
  4. Place several tablespoons of the beef mixture onto each tortilla.
  5. Roll the tortillas tightly and place them seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the tortillas lightly with olive oil.
  7. Bake for about 18 minutes until the tortillas are golden and crispy.
  8. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa for dipping.

Notes

  • Warm the tortillas slightly before filling to prevent cracking while rolling.
  • Do not overfill the tortillas to keep them tightly rolled during baking.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
  • The filling can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to assemble.
